GUIDE TO LISTENING/WATCHING RESOURCES
Two of the services below--Hoopla and Kanopy--require a Boston Public Library e-card, available to any resident of Massachusetts. Besides providing access to these services, it also provides you with access to all online resources offered by The Boston Public Library. Click here to apply for your BPL e-Card!
HOOPLA (BPL eCard Required)
Hoopla allows you to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics and TV shows to enjoy on your phone, computer, tablet, and your TV! You will need your BPL eCard number and the 4 digit PIN you used when you signed up for your eCard.
KANOPY (BPL eCard required)
Kanopy offers educational, entertaining, and enriching films. You can watch up to 8 films a month on any device (iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast, and more)

LIBRIVOX
Librivox's goal is to make every public domain book available in audio format, for free.
LIT2GO
This site contains free audiobooks, plays, short stories, and poems. With each audiobook, you receive citation information, play time, and word count. Some audiobooks, such as Shakespeare's Hamlet, have an accompanying PDF that can be used to read along with the text.
OPEN CULTURE
This service offers hundreds of free online courses, e-books, and audiobooks, mostly classics. Titles are compiled on one list to make it easy to find something you are interested in listening to. Authors are many and include Twain, Tolstoy, Hemingway, Orwell, Vonnegut, Nietzsche, Austen, Shakespeare, Asimov, HG Wells, Maya Angelou, and Ray Bradbury to name a few.
